Molecule structure determination at atomic level explores the structural basis of their reactions, interactions and biological activity. The X-Ray Crystallography Laboratory equipped with a microfocus X-ray diffractometer and crystallization facilities serves for solving the strucutres of both small molecules and proteins.


  • - Bruker Microstar 2 port rotating anode microfocus generator (Cu K-alpha radiation), data collection from two samples simultaneously
  • - Kappa goniometer and Bruker Smart 6000 CCD detector equipped with és 2-theta arm

The diffractometer facilitates data collection from two crystals independently and simultaneously. The MAR 345 detector is ideal for studying protein crystals with long unit cell axes, while using the Bruker Smart 6000 CCD detector atomic resolution dataset can be collected form smal molecular or protein crystals. Using the microfocus generator also small and wealky diffracting crystals can be screened or high resolution data sets can be collected from good quality crystals. Low temperature data collection can be carried out routinely using the cryostream system.
