The mission of the Institute of Biochemistry is to perform research to decipher the molecular details of biological processes. Focus is on biochemical, molecular, as well as on synthetic and evolutionary systems biology approaches. Research involves molecular stress, microbial genomics, gene/cell regulation and neurobiological/receptor studies. Biomedical and biotechnological applications of the results are pursued.
